What are Inkwear temporary tattoos?

Inkwear tattoos are premium designer temporary tattoos made for adults – a fun and stylish way to accessorise. Printed using soya-based vegetable inks on medical-grade adhesive, they’re skin-safe, recyclable, and eco-conscious. Our printed card is 100% recyclable, and the protective PET film is recyclable in around 40% of UK councils.

How long do temporary tattoos last?

Anywhere from 1 to 5 days, depending on where they’re applied and how well they’re cared for.

How do they work?

They’re classic water transfer tattoos – like the ones you might remember from childhood.

  1. Cut out your tattoo

  2. Remove the clear top film

  3. Press the design onto clean skin

  4. Wet the backing paper thoroughly

  5. Hold for 20–30 seconds and slide the paper away

How fast is the application?

Each tattoo takes around 20 seconds to apply.
We recommend trimming closely around the design before use, and wiping away any gel residue afterwards for a clean, matte finish.

Can I shower with them?

Yes! Inkwear tattoos are waterproof – just avoid heavy scrubbing.

How do I remove them?

Use baby oil, rubbing alcohol, or an oil-based makeup remover. They’ll rub off easily after a few days.

How do I make them last longer?

  • Avoid rubbing or friction (e.g. tight clothes or sleeping on the tattoo)

  • Apply to hair-free areas

  • Keep dry and avoid lotions for the first few hours

  • Use a light dusting of talcum powder to reduce shine

When will my order arrive?

  • UK: Sent via Royal Mail 1st Class – usually arrives in 1–3 working days

  • International: Typically arrives in 5–10 working days, depending on location

Are your temporary tattoos safe?

Yes. Our tattoos meet either FDA or EN71 EC safety standards, depending on production method.
They are:

  • Made using skin-safe, medical-grade adhesives

  • Printed with non-toxic, soya-based inks

⚠️ Not recommended for children under 5 or those with sensitive skin.
Avoid using near the eyes or mouth. If irritation occurs, remove immediately and discontinue use.

My order hasn’t arrived – what now?

If it’s been longer than expected, email us at adam@inkwear.co.uk. All UK orders are dispatched promptly, but delays can occur due to Royal Mail. We’ll trace your order and resolve any issues.

My tattoo looks shiny or wrinkly – how can I fix it?

Shine is caused by leftover transfer gel.

  • Wipe away gel immediately after application

  • Use a hairdryer or talcum powder to help it blend

  • Avoid joints and high-movement areas

When applied correctly, Inkwear tattoos should look realistic and skin-blended.

Why did my tattoo fall off early?

This is usually due to:

  • Oily or moisturised skin before application

  • Hair interfering with adhesion

  • Excessive friction or rubbing

For best results, apply to clean, dry, hairless skin, and avoid touching for the first hour.

Why does my tattoo look dirty?

Temporary tattoos can attract dust or fluff due to the adhesive surface.

  • Wash gently with soap

  • Avoid applying to areas likely to come into contact with clothing right away

  • Cut closely around the design to remove excess clear border

Do you offer festival tattoos, party packs, or custom event designs?
